Episode 26 - My COVID Story

Please remember that it is so important to do your own research. By research, I do not mean to quickly google search the adequate daily amounts of a certain vitamin. Google does not know what vitamins are good for anyone and should not be trusted as a reliable source for really anything except what to make for dinner. I never want to dismiss the reality of what we are living in right now. This pandemic is real. There are people who are losing their lives over this virus. I recognize that, I understand that, and I grieve every day because I truly feel these lives may have been lost in vain. These people may have not needed to die. However, I feel there is so much more going on here that we are failing to see as a society.

Before I start, please grab your thieves essential oil and put drops of it on the bottoms of your feet, rub them in, and just sit and relax. If you have frankincense nearby, use that if you are out of thieves.

The Importance of Healthy Living

My job is to educate others on the benefits of using oils, supplements, diet, and healthy exercise to keep their bodies well. I have done nothing but stress to people since this pandemic started the importance of taking zinc, vitamin D, vitamin C, and others to keep their immune systems in check in order to truly stay healthy.

For about a month before I came down with my symptoms I had become pretty lax on taking my supplements. I was taking some, but for some reason the zinc and vitamin D were not a huge priority and I got distracted and just forgot about them.

When It All Began

It was a Wednesday. I felt totally fine. I went to bed feeling normal, then woke up in the middle of the night with this strange headache, and an ache going from my bottom, down my leg, to my foot. I thought it was quite odd, so I grabbed an empty vegetable capsule, filled it with vitality copaiba essential oil, and grabbed two agilease capsules and took all of them with water. Within 15 minutes the aching was gone and I fell back to sleep and slept until morning.

When I woke up in the morning the aching had returned and my head felt really uncomfortable. It was not anything unbearable, but it was uncomfortable. I was not quite sure what was going on until I grabbed my bottle of ravintsara essential oil. I love this oil! It is excellent for the chest and any type of breathing. I took a huge whiff of the oil. I could not smell it. That was odd, I had never had this happen before. It is called anosmia. This is when your body loses the ability to smell. With that also comes your loss of taste. I knew this was a symptom of COVID-19 so I immediately went to work.

Once I knew it was COVID

I told the kids the day would be a bit different because I needed to focus on getting my body the right supplements so I did not have further symptoms that could cause permanent damage. I reached for my vitamin C, vitamin D, ImmuPower essential oil, zinc, inner defense, and NingXia Red. I set up my station in the living room. My kids were amazing. They helped me get what I needed when I needed it.

Supplement Regimen to Combat Symptoms

I started giving myself 1,000 mg of vitamin C every 15 minutes beginning at 8 a.m. in the morning. Each time I dosed vitamin C, I rubbed ImmuPower on the bottoms of my feet and put it on my spine. Check out the amazing PubMed article The Role of Vitamin C, Vitamin D, and Selenium in Immune System against COVID-19 on the benefits of vitamin C in high doses (Bae & Kim, 2020). I also gave myself about 30,000 IUs of vitamin D, and a capsule of zinc. Literally within two hours of following a strict high dose vitamin schedule, I was starting to feel better. I still had no sense of taste or smell, and was quite groggy, but I was feeling well enough to read books to my kids. I was able to bring back my taste and smell by putting a drop of frankincense on my thumb, and pressing my thumb to the roof of my mouth three times a day. I did this for days. The use of frankincense worked on a nerve within my mouth that is associated with taste and smell.

I continued the regiment all day long, I took a few naps that afternoon, and then went to bed a little earlier than my normal time. I slept through the night that night, woke up the next day and felt amazing. Other than not being able to smell or taste, I felt like nothing was wrong. So I did not keep up on my supplements because I just got busy in normal life. That Friday evening I started to feel a little run down again and so I went to bed a little early, but could not sleep for some odd reason. I woke up and used some ImmuPower on my feet and spine, and started my supplement regimen again because I thought maybe I had stopped too soon and that is why I felt really tired again.

Honestly, I just felt tired that Saturday. While I was not napping, I was taking vitamin C in small doses. I know, from my research, that vitamin C is water soluble so you need to flood your system with it in several doses over the course of the day. Vitamin D on the other hand is fat soluble so you can take it all at one time for the day. Inner defense is best taken separately and I took three of them per day with my meals.

Sunday rolled around and I partially kept up the high dose vitamin C. I was feeling much better, just a little tired still. Honestly, when I kept up on my supplements, I truly felt the energy come back. When I missed a couple of hours of vitamin C, I would get run down again.

There are several well-researched studies available on PubMed to support the high dosing of vitamin C, and using extra vitamin D and other micronutrients to help combat this virus.

My symptoms lasted only a couple of days because I worked hard at it.

Friends, the better you prepare your body for this virus, the better off you are going to be in the long run. I am not 100% certain, but I do feel that the only reason I had symptoms was because I was skimping on my key supplements when I should not have been. Had I kept up on them, I would have probably not even known that I had it .For daily maintenance I believe everyone should be supplementing vitamin D, vitamin C, and zinc. Especially right now, at the very least.

The super amazing part about this story is that I have several people who have made just as quick of turnarounds in how they felt by following the same steps I did. Some of them being high risk according to the CDC for complications. One who has recovered from cancer twice in her life. Another who is in her fifties had a 24 hour turn around with following the supplement regimen. I have several other success stories, but will stop there.


Another factor in this is mindset. Fear is a liar. Fear is a thief to our immune system. Fear creates anxiety. Anxiety stresses our adrenals and weighs our immune system down. Fear needs to stop! Every time you feel the fear of the virus and possibility of what could come, pray! Ask God to cover you with His wings, ask Him to give you the tools to fight this virus off so your body can be stronger in the end. Go into it with confidence, knowing you have the tools you need at your fingertips. If you are constantly worrying about ‘what could happen’ if that person in the grocery store gets just a little too close, then guess what, it is probably going to happen. We cannot live in fear. 

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10

We Need Each Other

Another thing that was incredibly important in my healing is I did not isolate myself from my family. Friends, we cannot shut out the ones that are there to take care of us for two weeks. We just cannot! The CDC recommends the infected person quarantine in their own home. I am sorry, but this recommendation is crap. There are several reasons why I believe this. (1) You have already been exposed to one another and your most contagious time is before you show symptoms so quarantining from your family after showing symptoms makes no sense. (2) You need your family to take care of you, to love on you, to hug you, this is vital for healing. Romans 12:4-5 For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.”

Please Research and Get the Tools your Family Needs

Friends, I am not a doctor. I am just an average person who loves to research, and loves to help people find simple solutions to everyday health issues. It does not take a white coat and stethoscope to look up some PubMed studies and make some decisions on taking vitamin C in large quantities. Nor has anyone ever been hospitalized due to excess amounts of vitamin C, vitamin D, or zinc. So I want to encourage you to check out my sources on high dose vitamin therapy. It honestly works!

I truly believe that if we as a society started focusing on wellness, we would not be seeing such devastating side effects of this virus.

You cannot hide from a virus my friends! Get your tools before you need them, and get your body ready for battle. Stay well and stay strong. We will get through this. Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” Matthew 11:28-29
